Matt McLaughlin Artist Statement There is a saying that to live life is to flow like water in a river. The philosophy behind this statement is that to flow like water down a river is to move through unblocked by problems and issues. In the river that is life there will be many rocks and logs, problems and issues, respectively. But the water does not stop moving ahead, it flows over and around the obstacles.  The work created for this series is a group of lithography prints in a topographical style. The images that the line work is based on are all natural scenes of water and the obstacles around it; the rocks, logs, trees, and leaves. T
